"Proud Americans was mobilized in March 2003 in response to the 'Iraqi Freedom' operation and counter the anti war protests that ensued. Giving a voice to patriotic Americans who backed our involvement, Proud Americans organized rallies throughout the Southland that garnered wide spread pro-American support.

The 'Thank You Soldier' program was initiated by ProudAmericans.org as a non-profit, non-partisan organization, committed to honoring our country and the brave soldiers stationed around the world who defend it. Functioning as an intermediary, ProudAmericans' mission is to bring together soldiers, who are either rotating back to the states or on leave from their overseas posts, with loved ones by uniting patriotic Americans interested in donating R & R from 2 nights or longer of vacation type lodging. Accessing our data base, we match specific areas of the country along with the varieties of lodging available for the soldier and their family. We feel this is the least we can do to express our deep gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to thank our soldiers for their enormous sacrifice."
