From Operation Sandbox Website: "Operation Sandbox was started in March 2003. My daughter Brittany wanted to do something besides flying Flags and Yellow Ribbons to show our support for the soldiers who were being deployed.

We adopted our first platoons from Fort Carson. Not realizing a platoon was 30 soldiers or more, we signed up for 2! This quickly became more than we could handle and we had to seek help from family and friends.

This quickly grew to what it is today! Men, women and children from all across the US and several foreign countries all sending messages of love and support from home to our deployed soldiers!"
